Quincy Whig, January 29, 1842, Page 3

For the Quincy Whig.

Obituary. – Died, after a short illness, at the City Hotel, in Quincy, on Friday the 21st inst. Willard B. Brown, aged 25 years, late of Rodney, Miss., and former of New Haven, Connecticut.

Although the deceased had passed but a brief residence in this city, he had nevertheless endeared himself to many, who esteemed him for the various characteristics of honesty and virtue, which he possessed. He has died far from the scenes of his youth, from his parents and relatives; but it may prove a consolation to his friends at a distance, to know that during his illness he was attended by those who had known him for many years, and who by unremitting exertion in administering to every want, and in procuring medical aid, done all that could be done to avert that blow which separates man from the fading scenes of earthly enjoyment. He has gone in the season of usefulness, and in the prime of manhood, while life’s delusive dreams were fairest and brightest. The ways of Providence, who can solve?
