"He was just another soldier

In a yankee uniform,

Who gave his life for freedom,

That we might carry on.

And to keep the things we cherish

And the liberty we love,

For we know they shall not perish

While our boys march along.

His name it doesn't matter

To the thousands in the line,

But to me his smile and laughter

Shall forever, all be mine.

And to me he's the greatest hero

Since the days of Washington,

He was just another soldier

But that soldier was my son."
