In the front row, the man and woman holding hands are Homer DUSTIN and Florence PRYOR. Next is Lewis PRYOR, Martha PRYOR (I believe. I am still waiting on a response from her grandaughter) and William PRYOR. In the second row from L to R are John Dolbeare (?) and Eveline PRYOR. Eva Pryor became Mrs. Dolbeare and Florence became Mrs. Dustin. Lewis married Bertha SAPP whom i do not see in the photo, but may have been there without glasses. I think this is a gathering of young people so parents were probably not present, although the last man on the right in the back might be Alfred Pryor, but I doubt it.

Subject: Pryor's in Rockport

Seated in the front row holding hands are John Lawrence Dolbeare and Eva Nevada Pryor Dolbeare. To the right are Lewis Luther Pryor, and William Pryoron the end looking distracted.. In the back row, Florence A. Pryor is the pretty, short girl and to her right is Homer Dustin. The photo was taken about 1892 so alfred Pryor would not be there. This photo appears in "A History of Gilgel Landing and Rockport" (Haines, 1971) but has some inaccuracies with regard to identificaton.

The people in the photo are identified in "A History of Gilgal Landing and Rockport" It was the birthday of Mollie Donahue. I finally got some definitive answers. However, the couple holding hands in the front row next to Lewis Pryor may be mislabled. I believe them to be John Dolbeare and Eva (Pryor) Dolbeare. Florence (Flora) Pryor is standing middle back row next to future husband, William Dustin. Martha Pryor is not in the photo as far as I can tell, misidentified or not. I still believe the distracted boy on the end looks like William A. Pryor. Compare the face, eyes and ears to Lewis. (The Pryor Ears! I have them also!) The photo of the Pryor children shows John holding something with Eva. John would have been in the photo as he probably paid for the photographer. The Pryor's probably could not afford one.
