EDWIN F. CHURCHILL
2/14/1912

Sunday was the 85th anniversary of the advent of our old friend into this world, and that event happened at Hartford, Conn., Feb. 11, 1827. He was the son of Charles and Lucy Churchill, natives of the state in which the subject of this sketch was born.

Mr. Churchill grew to manhood in his native state at the age of 12 years, became an apprentice at the work and trade of a mason, which trade he followed continuously until the infirmities of age compelled him to desist.

Mr. Churchill married for a third wife, Miss Rebecca Jasper, January 1, 1857, with whom he lived happily until she died Dec. 28, 2898. The funeral service was conducted in the Baptist church, Dec. 20 by her pastor, the late Rev. J. H. Young. She was a devoted woman to her husband and family; also to the church and greatly beloved by many friends. The children of this marriage are Stella O’Brien and Miss Katie Churchill of this city. There is one grandchild – Edwin Churchill O’Brien. Since the death of his wife he and Miss Katie have made their home with Mr. and Mrs. T. F. O’Brien, where the two sisters have tenderly cared for the aged parent.
